Lower Buckton Country House is off the beaten track in a rural and tranquil hamlet in Mortimer Country on the borders of Herefordshire and Shropshire where England meets Wales. Just 10 miles west of historical Ludlow in spectacular country for walking, riding and cycling from the door. Many castles, churches and ancient houses to be discovered. The perfect base from which to explore the English/Welsh Marches. Really good hospitality and food for every occasion. Lower Buckton offers select accommodation with award winning breakfasts and delicious dinners for the discerning visitor. All food is either homegrown and produced or locally sourced, bought and caught! We do not shop in multi-national supermarkets but patronize local independent shops, producers and farmers' markets. Are food and cooking is much acclaimed by all those who eat it! Lower Buckton's bedrooms have antique furniture, paintings and prints. The beds are made up with fine antique linen & Egyptian cotton sheets & pillow cases, feather & down-filled quilts & pillows and topped with vintage farbrics and antique Welsh blanket throws. There are silver trays & tea-pots, fine loose teas, ground coffee, local mineral waters, homemade biscuits and baskets of fruit. The bathrooms have fluffy towels and robes, lots of smellies, satin slippers and scented candles.

Directions Travel west through Leintwardine. After ¼ of a mile turn right signed Knighton A4113. At the next hamlet of Walford turn right at crossroads down narrow lane signed Buckton & Adleymoor. Over the river Teme, Lower Buckton is the 2nd house on the left (late Georgian red brick), entrance by village green- white gate with post box in wall.
