Banff enjoys spectacular sea views, magnificent sunsets, the cleanest of air and the friendliest of people.
A feature of the town is its Georgian architecture. Duff House, in the Deveron valley, is an impressive Georgian mansion and is open to visitors as a country house gallery with fine paintings and artefacts drawn from the National Galleries of Scotland.

Nearby Pennan, a beautiful old smugglers village at the foot of mighty cliffs, was the location for the movie 'Local Hero' and its famous phone box is a listed historical monument. Aberdour Bay has sandy beaches, extensive sea-cave formations and a 10th century church associated with St. Columba. A rugged and dramatic coastline, with its cliffs, crags, hidden coves and bays, offers plenty of sightseeing and walking opportunities for bird watchers and botanists.
