Torquay is surrounded by beautiful beach resorts with Paignton, Blackpool sands, and Slapton sands all within easy reach. Don’t forget that the Torbay climate is generally much warmer then other parts of Britain so you can enjoy a break in Torbay in spring and autumn as well as summer. If the weather does let you down then it’s just a few minutes walk from the ‘Westbrook’ to The Riviera Centre which has a range of leisure facilities including indoor swimming pool with flumes and wave machines. Also worth a visit is the new Living Coast centre in the harbour.
Stroll along the promenade to the Princess Theatre and Gardens, Pavilion Shopping and the Marina. The historical Torre Abbey and Abbey Park are also just a few minutes walk from the ‘Westbrook’. There are a variety of restaurants, cafes and bars, many offering ‘al fresco’ dining. If you prefer to ‘shop till you drop’ you must visit Fleet walk and Union Street shopping centres.
For the more energetic there are superb tennis courts, bowling greens, pitch and putt and crazy golf, as well as numerous water sports. Boat trips can be taken from the Harbour to Dartmouth, Brixham or around the Bay.
