The Battledown is a charming old house with much character. It was built in 1865 and recently has been completely refurbished in a tasteful decor and style.

All the rooms are en-suite and have hospitality trays, hairdryer, radio alarm clock and colour TV/DVD player. We now also offer a free DVD library for our guests.
A free car park is available for our guests.

Cheltenham offers a variety of festivals and events throughout the year, such as Literature, Classical, Jazz, and Folk music, Cricket, Science, Greenbelt, and of course National Hunt racing. In addition, the splendid new Centaur conference centre at the racecourse is now attracting many more interesting events and concerts.
Within a 20 minutes drive of Cheltenham, visitors can find themselves in a different world of idyllic thatched Cotswold villages, old country inns, historic houses and castles, and visitor attractions to suit all tastes

Directions
From South-West:
Leave M5 Junction 11, follow A40 towards town centre. Approx half a mile after 2nd RAB you approach the Texaco petrol station on your right on an “island”. Move into right lane, turn right and immediately left into Andover Road. Continue to main traffic lights/crossroad (Eagle Tower on left). Go straight over into Thirlestaine Road down to TJunction. Turn left into Old Bath Road. (still follow A40 Oxford ) and up to the lights/crossroad. Go straight over lights into Hales Road, we are half a mile down on the right.
From North-West:
Leave M5 at Junction 10. Approach via A4019 along Tewkesbury Road, towards town centre. Follow “All routes” and A40 Oxford until you get to TJunction with London Road. Here turn Left (as if going out of Cheltenham towards Oxford) Continue to 2nd lights (Cotswold Wooden Floor shop on left). Turn Left at lights into Hales Road, we are half a mile down on the right.
From London / Oxford:
Keep on A40 as you approach town, through Charlton Kings area. When you see the 2 large green signs on your left signing to “Hospital, Rail Station, Town Centre, Airport etc.” move into right lane to lights ahead. Turn Right into Hales Road, and we are half a mile down on the right.
From A46 North-East:
Approaching Cheltenham via Bishops Cleeve, at the racecourse RAB take the 1st exit, continue about 1 mile to Prestbury, to mini RAB and take last exit. Take 2nd left turning into Priors Road (signed “all routes, A40”, etc. This becomes Hales Road as you pass the Hewlett Arms sign on the left, and we are 200 metres further along on the left.
From A46 South-West (Bath / Straud)
Approach Cheltenham via Leckhampton, Bath Road. As you see Cheltenham College on your right, turn right into Thirlestaine Road to Tjunction at bottom Turn left into Old Bath Road (follow A40 Oxford signs) up to the lights /crossroad. Go straight over lights into Hales Road, we are half a mile down on the right.
