Built around 1570 the Old Court Hotel passed through the hands of various members of the same family for the next 200 years.
The buildings have maintained their character and architectural features, the great oak entrance door giving access to the reception area.Symonds Yat is an ideal base from which to explore the Wye Valley, - to visit the historic market towns of Ross and Monmouth and the world famous Tintern Abbey.The cities of Cardiff, Bristol, Gloucester and Hereford are all within 45 minutes by car, and nearby areas of outstanding natural beauty inlcude the Royal Forest of Dean and the Brecon Beacons National Park.
The position of the hotel makes it an excellent venue choice for conferences.
At Symonds Yat and within walking distance of the hotel we have the River Wye with boat trips, and a host of other tourist attractions, including the Jubilee Maze.

The hotel has 18 bedrooms, all of which have colour television, radio alarms, tea and coffee making facilities and direct dial telephones.
Several rooms have four-poster beds ideal for the honeymoon couple or a romantic get away. All the rooms have en-suite facilities and a large percentage have historical characteristics such as exposed wooden beams, original leaded windows and uneven floorboards creating a certain charm that transports you back to the 16th century.
Dogs are also very welcome but a small surcharge will be applied.

With log fires in autumn through spring, ceiling beams and a bar which has been fashioned from a highly carved tridarn or Welsh dresser dated 1681 – our bar provides the atmosphere of a traditional English inn. Full bar snack menu available with the best baguettes in the county!
