Picture Fairholme Guest House in Edinburgh, Midlothian, Edinburgh & Glasgow Welcome to Fairholme Guest House Home Page. The house was built in 1882, and still retains many of the architectural features of the period. Your hosts, Douglas and Barbara Blows have offered accommodation services on the present site for over fourteen years.
We are situated in a quiet Victorian terrace, nestled between two of Edinburgh’s main roads, with quick and easy access to the centre, as well as ample free parking space.

We offer accommodation in a non-smoking family home with a commitment to service. Available accommodation is two double rooms, one twin room, one family room and one single. All bedrooms are furnished to a high standard and have either full en-suite facilities, or private facilities. They all have television and radio/alarm, as well as a generous hospitality tray. The house benefits from full central heating, so a warm welcome is guaranteed in every sense of the word.
Fairholme offers restful accommodation in a family home with a commitment to service. The majority of the houses in the area date from the last twenty years of the 19th century; ours was built about 1884. The stones from which the houses have been built are much older, and were formerly used in the construction of a prison some half-mile south of the present location! We are nestled in a quiet terrace between Mayfield Road and Mayfield Gardens, and are close to bus routes without being disturbed by traffic noise. Available accommodation is two double rooms, one twin room and one family room, all with en-suite facilities, as well as one single/double, with H&C and a private bathroom/shower located on the same floor. All rooms have television and an alarm clok or radio with alarm. Fairholme also has the advantage of free on street parking, a rare treasure so close to town. A public payphone is also available.

We take great pride in our breakfast, which is prepared fresh in our kitchen, and enjoyed in our dining room. A full Scottish breakfast is provided, but please let us know if you have any food allergies or preferences.

By Rail
On arriving at Waverley Station, there is a taxi rank adjacent to the platforms. The taxi fare is between £3.50 to £5.50, depending on traffic. Alternatively, leave the station, walk to Princes Street or North Bridge and take an Edinburgh Transport bus number 3, 7, 8, 18, 21, 31, 37, 69, 80, 81 and C11. The bus travels south from North Bridge on a direct road, which changes name almost after each junction. After about 10 minutes, the street name changes to Mayfield Gardens. Dismount at this point and cross the street to Brights Crescent. Second left off the street is Moston Terrace, a brief two-minute walk. By Car
Heading north on the A1, A7 or A68, take City bypass heading West. Arriving on M90, M9, M8 or A70 or from Edinburgh Airport, take the City bypass heading East. Exit City bypass at Straiton Junction, and head towards Edinburgh South on A701. After approximately 4 miles, on Mayfield Gardens, turn left onto Brights Crescent; Moston Terrace is the second opening on the left
