Picture Pwll-y-Faedda in Erwood, Radnorshire, Wales Pwll-y-Faedda is an elegant 1920s fishing lodge in Wales, perfectly situated on the banks of the River Wye, with fabulous views of the rolling Welsh hills. With the Brecon Beacons only minutes away and the Black Mountains looming in the distance, it is the ideal location for your special day.

The house retains its sporting character as a fishing lodge but has the feel and grandeur of a country house. Long days spent on the terrace as the River Wye meanders past conjures up days of a bygone era. Oak paneled walls, roaring fires, and wonderful bedrooms with river views all add to the special magic of Pwll-y-Faedda.

Pwll-y-Faedda also offers bed and breakfast accommodation and is available for all types of functions including weddings, receptions, private parties, charity events, resident courses, special events, conferences, corporate days out and concerts.

We can accommodate up to 70 guests for functions and 12 guests overnight. Further accommodation can be arranged locally.

Rods for salmon and trout fishing are available on our own private stretch of the River Wye. Day rods must be booked in advance and a license is required.

The Pwll-y-Faedda beat is just above the Erwood Bridge and stretches for 850 yards of double bank and a further 60 yards of single bank fishing. Known as one of the most attractive beats on the Upper Wye, Pwll-y-Faedda provides eight good pools which may be fished early or late season at most heights of water. The greater part of the water fishes from the bank or with easy rock wading. This stretch has some very deep pools which can hold some good sized trout. Grayling, pike, and chubb have also been taken in these waters.

Pwll-y-Faedda is a member of the Upper Wye Passport Scheme. We are a catch and release fishery.

Season dates for 2005 have yet to be announced but the season generally starts around the 3rd of March for salmon and trout.

Salmon day rods are £35 and trout rods are £15. Waders are recommended.
Tuition is available by request.
