Looking for a friendly, unfussy and welcoming place to stay in central Edinburgh? We offer comfortable accommodation at prices to suit all budgets. An excellent exploring base.  Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile only a twenty-minute walk away.                   We have free unlimited parking and a great bus service on the doorstep.                                 The Ascot is situated handily on the south side of Edinburgh a few minutes drive from the city centre which is just over two kilometers or a mile away. It is an approximate 20 minute walk to Princes Street and even less to the Royal Mile and Castle.                              We are situated on a major bus route where a good selection of buses will take you to most parts of the city. There is a private car park and unlimited free on-street parking. The Ascot has both standard and en-suite rooms to cater to all budgets. The rooms are spotlessly clean and have full central heating. They also have a remote control colour television and tea and coffee making facilities. All rooms are non-smoking. With your own front door key they are accessible at all times. Pets welcome by prior arrangement. We also have triple and family rooms.

Directions How to find us By Car: From the City Bypass (A720) exit at the Sheriffhall roundabout then take the A7 Edinburgh road for about 4 miles until you reach the Cameron Toll roundabout. Follow the A7 road signs (marked Old Town) which will take you on to Dalkeith Road. We are situated at the city end. By Bus: You can catch a bus from Princes Street on the shop side. The numbers are 14, 21, 30, 33 and 86. The stop is the first past the Commonwealth Swimming Pool, ask the driver for Marchhall Place. Fare 80 pence, exact change required. By Taxi: A taxi from the city centre will cost approximately £3-4. From the Airport Either take a taxi which will cost around £16 or catch the Number 100 airport shuttle bus (£3.00 single £5 return) which will take you to the railway station and Princes Street. From there you can either walk, take a taxi or catch a bus (see above).
