The interior of the Glenora Hotel retains many of the features typical of fine Victorian townhouses in Edinburgh. With ornate cornices and decorative plasterwork, and brass servants' bells and speaking tubes. This resedential area surrounding this townhouse hotel combines elegant city living with convenience, and the nearby railway station at Haymarket makes tours and trips to other parts of Scotland very easy. In fact, when Queen Victoria opened the palacial Donaldson's College (very close to the Hotel) she was so impressed by its convienient location close to the new Haymarket railway station that she offered to exchange the building for Holyrood Palace!
